Unsure about how TSH / T4 have stopped me having operation

Hi

i have underactive thyroid taking 150 mg levothyroxine a day . I was due to have a operation but the anaesthetic said due to unstable thyroid they will not allow the operation to ho ahead .

Im 50 yrs old and got my underactive thyroid 26 yrs ago which never has been stable .

My doctor has never referred me to endocrinologist the nurse at pre op couldn't believe looking at my TSH &T4 why they have not referred me to endocrinologist .

Currently TSH 0.17 T4 16.8 insure if what this means .Can anybody help.
