Unsure what this red patch is and how to treat it?

I've had this red patch above my eye for around 2 weeks now. It started as a lot more pinkish in colour and it would itch and flake; after treatment with Nizoral shampoo -- which worked the last time I used it, as I've has this once before; and aloe vera cream -- which burned, a lot -- it has now turned angry and red.

I've attached an image (which isn't very clear, I apologise) but do you think I should go to a pharmacist's for some cream, or to a doctor's? Or is the latter unecessary?

Makes sense to try the chemist's first, and if you do not resolve it, then see your doctor.  Good luck!

      Thanks!

I guess I'm just worried that it's something like a basal cell carcinoma because I'm irrational like that, lol. But yeah, I'll try the chemist's tomorrow.

Oh, dear, try not to think cancer.  Put that completely out of your mind!  Surely it is nothing "serious."

As TXOAP says try the pharmacist first as you can see them immediately. It could just be an allergy to something. I would have thought it very unlikely to be a carcinoma.

June what puzzles me is you said you used shampoo which worked?  Yes id try to deal with this myself to, i have a similar problem with a sore that doesnt heal, goes dry and flakey then back to red and raw looking right between my breasts up top, i know i too should go to the doctors but like you im scared it may be skin cancer.
