Unusual looking condyloma or something else?

Posted , 2 users are following.

I have those on my frenulum.

What is it? Condyloma?image

Btw, I had condyloma, at the same spot, and I have CLL (chronic lympholitic leukemia).

My doctor says it's not condyloma, but it sure looks like it.

If not condyloma, what is it and how to threat it?

There are several things this could be including a severe skin condition.

You need to see a skin specialist, a Dermatologist about this as soon as possible. Your doctor should have at least offered you a referral to a dermatologist. You MUST get the correct treatment put in place as soon as possible.

    • What age are you?
    • in what country do you live?
    • are you able to refer yourself to health specialists such as a Dermatologist?

Hi. First of all, thank you for your reply, I really don't know what to do anymore.

First thing that I did was to go to state funded dermatologist. I don't usually look for health related answers online, just to be clear, but I'm running out of options now.

I had similarly looking condyloma at the same place, also white. It was diagnosed at the state funded dermatologist, but burned (radio cauterised) a few times in private clinic. I didn't have sex during that time, so any kind of reinfection by sex is not possible, but they returned each time, after a few months.

After some time I changed clinic, because it looked to me that I'm wasting time and money on cauterisation without any effect. I changed the clinic. I went to another doctor, at the other private clinic, who is urologist, and I had two more cauterisations by radio waves.

After that, he told me that this white thing is not condyloma and that it is just scar tissue.

I went to two other doctors (dermatologists), and they told me that it is not condyloma, but couldn't give me an answer what it is, and how to threat it.

I'm 38 years old, living in Serbia, I have access to dermatologist, but they don't seem to know what it is. If you can tell me what it can possibly be, please tell me, so I can at least discuss it with them.

      Best regards,

      Srdjan

I have seen this effect on genital skin before - I am not a medical professional, therefore you would be best dealing with someone like a Dermatologist.

What you may have going on, and therefore that is what is shown in the photo, is scar tissue from the previous treatment you have had, and this would be IN ADDITION to the original skin problem that you have, and continue to still have.

I have two suggestions: this could be something like Lichen Sclerosus or something that I have seen described as a 'Plate Wart' as the appearance of both these conditions can look similar to some extent.

In western Europe and in the USA there are there are an increasing number of Dermatologists who specialise in Genital Skin Disorders - much of the demand for these specialists has come about due to the rise in the number Autoimmune related skin conditions that affect the Genitals, and the largest number of these conditions are experienced by women and girls.

Therefore many of these specialists work alongside Gynaecologists to help to deal with such issues.

As I say, such specialists are also defined as Dermatologists who specialise in Genital Skin Disorders / Genital Skin Problems - it is quite typical that many health professionals, from regular doctors, to urologists and even dermatologists may not even recognise what you have.

The approach I would suggest to you is to look for two health specialists: find the largest Sexual Health Service in the area in which you live or can travel to. This may be a hospital that has a large department treating all different sexual and genital health related issues. If you can get an appointment you need to see one of the most senior members of staff as it is more likely they will have seen the issue you have on patients that have previously presented to them.

The other is you can do an internet search to see if there are any Dermatologists listed who specialise in Genital Skin Disorders / Genital Skin Problems - as I say, do not be surprised if such specialists are listed as being in Gynaecology Departments at hospitals as that could be where many are based.

Simply phone and ask if they will see males, or if not, ask for a contact number of a specialist that does deal with male genital skin disorders

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate your answer.

I'll try to do it as soon as I can, but Covid 19 is making all state funded hospitals accept only emergency cases, I even had to do my blood tests and abdominal ultrasound in private clinic. So I'll have to try and find some private clinic that has really good dermatologist who has seen this.

      Thanks!
