Unusually high d dimer/ clear ct scan/no PE

Hi. In mid March my whole family came down with a SEVERE case of the stomach flu. I ended up in the ER and was found to have a severely elevated d dimer. My test showed it was over 3400. I was sent for a CT scan which came back clear. Eventually I was sent home with no more comment on what could have caused such a high level and no instructions for any follow up. This was during the onslaught of covid 19 so doctors weren't really seeing any new patients in my area and I dont have a gp. I'm just wondering if this is something I need to get rechecked. My labs usually come back wonky with at least one result off the charts, yet no one seems very concerned. Do I need to be more proactive and insist on further testing or should I just continue feeling blah and keep on keeping on? Any advice?
