Upcoming Urethroplasty- Nervous

Hi everyone,

So after years of annoyance and social suffering with a tiny little stricture in the meatus it has been recommended I have a urethroplasty procedure done.

My surgeon has referred to it as: Sub Meatal urethroplasty+Buccal Graft

Just wondering if anyone has any advice or tips regarding this surgery.

From what I've read the more common strictures are done through the peranium so interested to hear what after pain is like from a penile incision plus the graft.

    Hey Alex,

    I can't comment on the location , mine was perineal. But I had a buccal graft urethroplasty in April this year. I can say the surgery was a big increase of my quality of life. It's a tough road but pays off in the end. Let me know if I can help.

      Im trying to work out whether im going to be better off with the perineal incision lol

      Im nervous but glad its not to far away, less time to think about it lol

      You've got the right idea ! Lol . Just get it over with. Worst part for me was the three weeks at home with the catheter! The pain wasn't all that bad otherwise

    Alex Just trust in your doctor that he will do a good job.  Has he explained the whole surgery to you.  If you have any question please ask him..  I just what you to understand everything and the way they are going to do it.  And for you own good do not look at the surgery on the internet  That is all I have to say  Good luck  Ken  Ps  Do you really have to have it done Is it stopping you from going to the bathroom
