Hi Vanessa I know it's good to get home and to your own bed. Don't worry about being tired, it will pass. It took me about a week before I stopped wanting to fall asleep every 5 minutes, though I'm sure it varies from person to person.

I'm now 9 days post op and 7 days at home and I still have the attention span of a gnat. I find concentrating on anything a sure fire way of being asleep within 10 minutes.

This is an excellent forum for getting answers about stuff that the professionals don't mention - so ask away. You'll usually find someone has an idea or suggestion.

Good luck and a speedy recovery.

Glad you are home, now let the recovery begin. Make sure you don't jump about too much when you are watching football  and I'm sure if you keep falling asleep, you won't miss too much. X

You know that you had 2 major surgeries within 6 months, right?

I felt the same as you do right now - For some reason nothing felt the same as 1st THR - well, at first I was over-confident and cocky , it felt so good --- Walking the way I thought was perfect etc (look, no hands!!!) -

then it felt so wrong -- more pain in wound or hip and scar , upper leg , stif and heavy and then old new hip started to act up too -

but .... our body has not really recovered from 1st THR - especially when other hip was getting more and more painful - we just ploughed through ... and then the THR no.2 was performed -

it is OK, everything you feel is normal - even feelings of disappointment (they will come up)  - you are done and yet you are not - healing has just started darling !!!!

come back here anytime okay -
