So for a while I thought I had high blood pressure. I hated when they took my pressure at the doctor because I always had a high reading. I was always really nervous. My doctor said to by a home BP monitor but I was nervous about that too. That was 3 months ago. Today I gave up that fear and bought one. I checked it and was really nervous. My BPM was 107.. I said oh no. Not again. But then I looked at my readying and guess what guys.... 124/68. Amazing!!. My symptoms I had from yesterday are gone as well. I'm not longer hungry. I don't go to the restroom alot. And I'm feeling overall better. This tells me it's anxiety. Anxiety is a tough cookie. So it gets better guys. You just gotta keep working at it and face your fears at time. God bless you all!

When I get mine taking at the doctors it's sometimes high, it's called white coat syndrome. If it was high when ur just chillen at home I'd be concerned.

Glad your feeling a bit better.

That's what I was scared of. Having the same readings and having HBP. But we are good. I gotta keep exercising and eating better. That's allllllllll it takes sometimes! Thank you!

I don't know your story since I've been on the alcohol forum until today.  But, I'm a nurse and I do know that's excellent BP.  Even the OH NO 107 smile  It's amazing what nerves can do and how our anxiety just takes over until we take control of it.

I'm working on a dual diagnosis of anxiety/alcoholism.

    This too shall pass.

    God bless you my friend!

Absolutely!  I have a resident that gets worked up before going to the hairdresser or doctor appointments.  I always mark in the book that her BP is high because of those reasons.  She's 100 years old.  lol.   But, yes, anxiety can defintiely raise BP.

I've had it really rough since February. Always thinking I had every disease and I still think I do at times. But things like this give me hope I'm okay and it's anxiety just being anxiety. Welcome to the anxiety forum! Really nice people here that just wanna help and are suffering the same ugly monster.

Thanks.  I know I can diagnose myself by just quitting drinking.  I'm just extremely stubborn. The alcohol forum was getting a bit boring (althought they're all great).......I just needed a change.   I needed to get it through my head that in order to take of my drinking I had to figure out what was causing my anxiety.  My counselor and I are working on that. smile  And, yes, it's an ugly monster!

That's what I figured. I went for a cardiogram last week and my blood pressure was high. She was concerned but I just said it just anxiety so. Even today it was high but during the test and after it was fine so. Once I know everything is OK then I'm calm my BP is fine I'm relaxed...

That's quite normal.  You can even google BP and anxiety.  As long as when you're relaxed it goes down then it's axiety related.

Yup as soon as I know what's going on or they tell me I'm fine it goes down!!

It's weird it's almost like I have more energy at the end of your work day and the anxiety is lower as well.

I just wonder what brings on anxiety?? I know doctors say it comes out of knowhwere but I'm not worried about anything or thinking about anything.......

      Hi Lisa thanks for asking,

Well my blood pressure is really good. 116/63 last time I checked it. Idk why I was worried about it this whole time. Maybe because I went to the doctor and was always told it was a little high. But at home it's really good. My other symptoms are gone. I think I stressed myself out becaue of family issues and caused my anxiety to come back full throttle. This was 2 weeks ago that I went through so me really stressful family issues. I guess my body didn't take it well and it's taking a little to recuperate. I want to come of the beta blockers they prescribed me as it seems to lower my Blood pressure to much at times and also lower my heart rate to low. May be this is a good sign. We will see what the doctor says. I have a treadmill test this week which I'm a little nervous of but hopefully it will come out fine. Nine symptoms have arisen so that's good. I also beat my fear of getting out there again. I had to film a funeral service today and I was feeling anxious at first but I calmed down and it went great. Hoping for a better week this week. Comes to show you cant let anxiety cripple you and take it by the horns
