Update: Boric Acid & VH prebiotics (suppository)

Hey girls. As many of you already know from my periods posts. I’ve been dealing with Bv for years now and nothing has helped my symptoms. I’ve been on multiple rounds of antibiotics, creams, and gels this year (more than other years). I tried using the VH probiotic suppository two weeks ago for two nights and I bled sooooo much!!! It was really bad so I immediately had to stop using it. On Saturday night I started using boric acid and stopped on Tuesday. I was going to use it last night but yesterday during the day I noticed a little it of blood. So I waited to see if I should use it tonight and I’m definitely spotting. I know many women have said it made them bleed too. Has anyone had this reaction with boric acid?? Idk what else to do. Nothing has helped me and I’m f*****g desperate and mad! I truly find comfort through this website because I know I’m not alien and I see many hopeful stories. I want to keep hope but at this point I feel like I’m never going to get rid of it.

    Dear Liz This must be one of the most awful complaint. I have had several episodes with this. I found that not using shampoo in the shower helped to get me to recover. Have you tried this.. As well as I contacted by email the Samaritans. The medical profession were not helpful which I find at odds with so much they can do in other areas. Women are left to struggle. Bernadette Have you looked on YouTube about BV... I used boric acid only to have bladder problems.

    Try acidophilus pills in the vagina that creates good bacteria that should clear it up unless u don’t get an upset stomach with Flagyl that’s another medication that clears it up

    Yes boric acid always caused bleeding during sex. Let me ask you this...if you are using sex toys that are not 100% silicone grade material you will get recurrent infections such as bv. Get rid of those toys and then go to your doctor for a prescription. I had recurrent bv for 6 years. Nothing worked until I did the above. I no longer have bv or chronic uti infections! If you don’t use sex toys then this info doesn’t apply to you.
