Update on Carpel tunnel

Hello everyone havent been on for a while, but thought i would update you all...  originally had the CTS in my left hand in Dec last year...its 4 months since i had theoperation, having physio on it as its still swollen and red on the wound site.  Having electric shock feeling from my elbow to my wrist, on a morning i cannot form a fist, as my wirst and fingers are stiff... Also my physio thinks i have tennis elbow, and tendinitous (probably spelt that wrong)  in my wrist and thumb.  he also cant understand why my dr has left it this long until they have got physio for my hand.  I have now been referred to see another hand surgeon as i am not happy with the way my hand is feeling at the moment, i am loosing my grasp in my fingers, im a keen gardener and im finding i cant hold tiny seedlings anymore, or carry trays of seeds...very frustrated.

Thanks for reading smile

    Hi Ruth

Snap I am so unhappy with the outcome of my operation it's actually worse now than before, my consultant sia he will review me I 8 weeks and do another nerve rest but my last nerve test before op said it was fine but when he went in my nerve was totally squashed? I feel terrible pain is rediculous numbness I wish I never had it done I drop more things now than before and get angry because if frustration x my wedding finger and little finger are quite bad and this has nothing to do with CTS so god knows what he has done xx

    Hi Ruth,

I had the cts surgery in Nov. 2015. My hand is still swollen and the fingers stiff. No thumb strength either (dealing w/thenar atrophy). I'm seeing my primarycare on Tuesday. Please keep us updated on your progress!

Also had my right hand done last December. Had my left done six months before with no issues whatsoever. My right hand is stiff, middle finger is cold. I would have never had this done if I knew then what I know now. Have a hard time buttoning my shirt in the morning. Cant pick anything up unless I'm looking right at it. Frustrating.Have not spoken to the DR. as I am getting tired of hearing "it could take six months or more". I think he screwed something up.

    Hello Ruth,

I have the same problems as you, I had my left hand done Octber 21st, my wrist , elbow and sholder are stiff and very painful every day and the my palm is red and swollen around the scar. The NHS kept cancel my appointment with the doctor that had operated my hand, so last week I have to booked him privately and I saw him 2 days ago. He said that I am a mistery for him, and probably my problem is on my neck and he want to inject my neck, the risk is to remain paralized.

I also look for another doctor, how did you get the referral?

    Thanks
