I hope and pray you get well soon.. What are your symptoms? I've got vertigo and it affects my left side. Mines the dizziness/unbalance feeling.. ❌❌❌

Have you had vestibular testing?  I had and the doctor said that my left ear is not working properly.  I have been sent to a therapist for vestibular rehabilitation therapy where you do a lot of different exercises for your eyes and inner ear to work together and for your brain to learn to compensate.

Hi I am new to this thread and having very positive thoughts right now that my condition will get better. I have been battling this for 11 months now and finally got the labrynthits diagnosed yesterday. I thought I was going crazy, to say the least. Driving is extremely difficult and bridges terrify me as I am so dizzy. I am on antibiotics and mucinex now. Taking anxiety medication as well. All of a sudden my bathroom counter looks like a medicine chest..Praying everyone has a full recovery and thank you for sharing your stories..always good to know you are not alone, but I would not wish this on anyone.

Hi Wendy. Today is a week since I had my major 'episode'. It was SO scary! I am still in bed and haven't been able to get up at all. Started with a strange experience about 3 or 4 months ago when suddenly my left ear felt really full, couldn't hear properly and was dizzy sick and sweating. But this passed after about 20 minutes. Then nothing for a month or so but began to have the odd slightly dizzy sensation and hearing affected in same ear. I had decided last Sunday to make an appointment to see the doctor because of a cluster of these more minor episodes. Then that night it struck me down. I couldn't stand was vomiting and was shocked and frightened. I have been taking antibiotics and anti sickness medication since Monday with little effect.I have no diagnosis yet and there seems so many conditions that have the same symptoms that it's hard to know. I've been convinced that it's an acoustic neuroma! When and how did you get your diagnosis.

Sorry to go on but it's good to know I'm not alone! And I've never

You have my  sympathy I too had severe vertigo and vomiting which came about in waves I too was in bed had to have the GP out twice yes antibiotics and anti sickness pills prescribed . I have now gone 5 days with no episodes I am still on the antisickness pills. We are assuming it is labrynhitis caused by a virus although I have had no colds or anything only an MRI scan and a visit to the ENT consultant will be able to say what it is,I think it's a case of treat the symtoms first diagnosis later. The only tip I can give you is keep very still and quiet no noise no computer or tele someone suggested chocolate, dairy food coffee can trigger an episode I must admit I do feel drained good for the weight I have lost over half a stone let me know how you get on

Hi Wendy, I have just been diagnosed with Labrynthitis, I can feel a kind of cloudynss in my left ear, and I have had a preassure headache on and off for about 4 days now. My GP has told me to stay off the medication for the weekend and I have an appointment on Monday morning with them, to discuss it further, The headache seems to be improving with the Naproxine, but when it is there it is full on. The first day I had it it was actually so severe it made me go into a pub toilet and feel like I was going to either pass out or throw up.

I haven't really had the sick feeling since Tuesday thank goodness. I have had the dizzy spells on and off. Anything you can recommend that helps, as I have been off work for almost 6 weeks because I fractured my scaphoid bone lol and now I have this. My employers aren;t being too bad atm, but I am a bit worried about being off for so long what they are going to do.

I work with children so they have advised I stay off until my symtoms go away completely.

any advice I would be greatful of

    thanks

    Jill xxx
