Update on my umbilical hernia

Hi all and i firstly just want to thank everyone who has given me some great advice and help its much appreciated.Well since i came on here last not much has been done regarding my umbilical hernia,i kept pushing the nhs to give me another scan,to see what is happening with my hernia.Well it took me seeing my gp and him referring me back to get a second opinion from a different consultant,as the one i did have told me to lose weight and get to 12 and a half stone,i originally did manage to lose 2 stone, but due to my mental health and the medication i was taking,i have put all the weight back on.I met my new consultant who was really nice, she was very understanding, sympathetic to everything i told her, what i hadn't explained to anyone before is that my anxiety does cause my hernia to cause me pain, sometimes just a niggling pain, but other times the pain is excruciating, she listened to everything i said, and about a week or 2 later i got letter from this consultant saying about exactly what i had told her about my hernia, including that my anxiety is also causing my hernia to cause me pain,it also said that she is referring me for an ultrasound scan.Well since then i have had an ultrasound scan which showed my hernia,it hasn't grown in the almost 2 years i have had it,its 2 cm above my belly button,it is still 1.2cm in size, but still keeps causing me pain, even whilst having the ultrasound done,it hurt whilst the scan was being done, the guy doing the scan wasn't pushing down too hard, yet my hernia still hurt during the scan.Since the scan i have received a letter from the new consultant i am under saying that the ultrasound has shown the hernia,it is the same size as before,it then goes on to say that she and the nhs are going to ask the CCG for funding on my behalf as this is a low priority procedure and would need funding prior to the hospital going ahead,i have a question what does this mean about this funding etc,if i get the go ahead on this funding, what will the hospital then do about my hernia,i can't take having the pain from my hernia any longer
