Update: random soap that has me mostly symptom-free

Hello all. I posted last fall when I first figured out I had LS after a week of itching and noticing my skin was white. I was 28 at the time, planning a wedding, and devastated. I didn't want to change my diet, stop wearing jeans, stop drinking wine, and have to apply goopy creams and oils every day.. nonetheless it was not something that could be ignored because of the crazy itching on the tips of inner labia and clitoral hood. Doctors experiences were not helpful and I try to stick to homeopathic remedies. I was prescribed clob and did not want it (or to pay for it). I was doing lots of baking soda baths and castor oil but wasn't quite sure if it was really helping. That went on for a few months. Luckily i did not experience too much tearing or have any symptoms in my vagina.. but from all the itching my labia area was so tender and the skin was thick and swollen. This carried on through the winter..

I am a very healthy person but as stated before, the one other medical issue I have is tinea versicolor (relatively harmless but annoying white patches on back & shoulders) and I just knew something in me was causing both that and the LS. Tinea is another stubborn condition that doctors are not helpful with. With my upcoming wedding, I did not want the white patches all over, so I ended up trying a treatment soap from Amazon that had great reviews as a last ditch effort in march. The soap consists of sulfur and lavender. (I had used lavender drops in my castor oil and didn't feel like it did anything btw).

After trying so many remedies for my tinea, this $10 soap started working amazingly. One day I decided to apply some to my LS and the next day, no more itching. I kept using and the itching was really subsided for me. After a few weeks, my skin wasn't swollen and thick anymore and I started to forget I had LS. I wondered if it was just a coincidence but on numerous times when i have forgotten to use the soap I was notice the slightest itching the next day. It has been a god send! No more need for castor oil or baking soda baths. My skin is still really, blatantly white so I'm going to try the borax. Also, I didn't end up doing major diet changes, elimating jeans or wine from my life, etc. One thing I will say is that added sugar DEFINITELY causes itching like everyone here says. As I'm writing this, I am awake in the middle of the night due to itching because I didn't use the soap last night and I got into some brownies now that my diet is lax post-wedding. It is a little flashback to the misery of last fall. I have been nagging myself to post here to tell you all about the soap and this seemed like a good time. I know it's not technically what the soap is for, but then again we all seem pretty open to non traditional remedies here and the soap is homeopathic and I don't think would cause any harm.

The soap on Amazon is called: Naturasil Tinea Versicolor Relief Soap and comes in a white & purple box. It is $10 for me in the US. I lather the soap bar directly on to my skin and rinse it right off.

I hope this helps someone and that you guys can get this in the UK. Not sure how prevalent Amazon is there but I would assume it is. Let me know if any of you try this 😀

I just googled it and found lots of places to buy it, but Im in the USA. I ordered some. It lists like it is natural homeopathic and is used for fungus, ringworm, athletes foot.

I cant wait to see if it helps me. I dont have itching though, Im just red and sore, inflamed skin that cracks sometimes. I use Clob and Coconut Oil works well as a lube.

The sulfer corresponds with my experience with natural mineral baths in which sulfer.  Which  was very relaxing btw.  For the rest I will stick with my borax baths and rinses.  But good  to know that there exists such a soap.  Thanks for that.

Hi Bec, so sorry you had been experiencing such a torrid time with this wretched disease.  According to my naturapath diet really has nothing to do with it. Nor the wearing of jeans or drinking alcohol.   It is more likely to be a autoimmune type of disease I think.  Anyway, I found excellent results with Perrins Complete Cream.  Look up their site on the internet for stockists near you.  This worked/s brilliantly for me and my Dermatologist was ecstatic as the result.  I have been clear of phyisical symptoms for 3 years now.  I do on occassions get itchy and when I do I use Perrins.  I also do from time to time use the cortisone cream prescribed by my Dermatologist and an anti-fungal cream. (but both minimally) She told me that sometimes the use of the coritsone cream can increase the chances of thrush developing.  Once you get it under control you will learn what works best for you to manage it.  I am glad you have found something that it helping but keep Perrins in mind also.  The only change to clothing I made was the use of 100% pure cotton nickers, just as a safeguard really as there is no evidence of clothing being an issue.  Sadly the disease never goes away.   Good luck....

Thank you, looking into it now. Did your skin turn white from LS and did the cream help that at all? It is wonderful that you have found this much success!
