Update : Surgery Done !

So... Just wanted to update you all as you have given me some great advice and helped me with the decisions I've had to make.
I had had decompression surgery on 1st March. The procedure went very well although the surgeon told me it was packed very tightly inside so the decision to proceed with surgery was definitely the right one.
I had a very tough recovery, spending the first day in ITU after bring violently sick immediately after coming round from the anaesthetic and for the 24 hrs. I then spent a further 5 days on the close observation ward as they struggled to get my sickness and headaches under control. Finally after 6 days it started to improve and I was moved onto the ward.
Got to go home after 10 days and finally starting to feel human again..head pains are finally under control although I still have bad days which is only to be expected.
So thanks for all the advice and onwards and upwards from here (hopefully !!)

I think they all tell you that so not to get your hopes up. They will not promise an improvement in symptoms.
My main hope is that it resolves the valsalva (straining / cough) headaches.
But out of course will keep you all updated over the coming months
