Updated Responses for Green Light Laser

I'm looking to Green Light Laser for BPH. I'm also being treated with Lupron (coming up to 9 months) for PC. I decided against PAE as I was concerned about having plastic beads permanently inserted, and I was also worried about levels of radiation exposure during the procedure. I pulled the plug on it after reading one of the threads here on Patient.info. Especially concerning was one man's allergy to the micro plastic beads. As many of the discussions on this site are five years or older, I would like to hear more recent experiences with Green Light Laser. I had had my heart set on FLA but can't afford paying out of pocket for it. Has Green Light gotten any better or are doctors now better at using it? Does it work for all types of prostate enlargement including median lobe?
I have urinary retention and have been wearing a catheter for 10 months and am more than ready to go forward with the procedure. My urologist in town wants to do a channel TURP, but I am researching and want to know all of my options. I'm in Winston Salem, North Carolina and there are quite a few doctors in-sate that do GL. Strangely no one here in WS . I'm scheduled with a doctor in Charlotte to meet and discuss GL..
Any and all thoughts are appreciated. Looking to hear recent experiences and results from others.
Thanks.
Mike

@Shyamlal, I wish you well for PC. I have been posting a lot of late, as I am moving toward a decision my self for relief of LUTS in BPG and OAB. As a fellow large median lobe prostate, medications have not served me well. I am also concerned about cost of procedure, because realization can hit you hard in pocketbook. For the enlarge median lobe that protrudes into the bladder neck will block urine flow. Minimally invasive therapy I am looking at are: prostate enucleation (HoLEP) and Greenlight Vaporization laser of prostate. Maybe, bipolar Turp. Turp scares me, with so many unknowns. I have had cytoscopy and ultrasound of prostate for my diagnosis. My new uro is versed in Greenlight. I will be seeing him in few weeks time. I always was informed that PAE would not work with obstructing median lobe, also, that Turp ultimately means RETRO. Laser options as GL and HoLEP have shown urinary improvement and with longer term outcomes for the OML. So, many of the guys here are dealing with catheter hell. I do not want to go down that road. But, ultimately successful surgery, the prostate MUST heal. Voiding is a necessity. One thing is when men are satisfied with therapy, you do not hear back from them. As in rear view mirror.
