Upped Sertraline dose and feel awful- is this normal ?

Posted , 3 users are following.

I was on 50mg Setraline for 5weeks (started 15/12/22) and saw some differences - I was having

  • [ ] less vertigo
  • [ ] Crying less
  • [ ] Less intrusive thoughts
  • [ ] Less migraines
  • [ ] I cooked my first two home cooked meals from scratch for the first time in months

Only less - not gone, but less-

I still haven’t been able to leave my house or bedroom for 5months. (This is when The agoraphobia started when my mum passed)

My sleep routine is very upside down and I’m having between 3-5 hours sleep a night- mostly broken-

My doctor increased me to 75mg (started 23/1/23) a week ago and I feel like I am back to the beginning-

  • [ ] Severe Migraines
  • [ ] Dizzy spells
  • [ ] No motivation
  • [ ] Depressed
  • [ ] Intrusive thoughts
  • [ ] Brain zaps
  • [ ] Occasional Shakes
  • [ ] High anxiety and panic

    Will this pass?

When? And will I ever get better?

I just want to be able to take my son to school myself and leave the house like a normal person- 😫

i started on 25, then went to 50 then to 75 and now im on 100mg . i started in the summer and am just starting to feel back to normal within the last few weeks. im so sorry youre going through this , its not fun. but just hang in there. it takes a while to build up in your system and for your body to know how to use it . it may take a little longer but i promise if you stick to it it does get better. in the beginning i thought i was never going to get back to "normal".just keep pushing through. i wish you the best of luck !

so sorry to hear you're like this. im in the same boat. ive been on 50mg for around 3 years and was doing ok, i caught covid over christmas, got very poorly from that and then an ear infection and subsequently got very down and anxious, and been moved to 75mg a few weeks ago. since then im really lightheaded, absolutely no energy, tired all the time, anxiety through the roof, headaches at the centre of my forehead and shakey. wondering will it ever end. i'm just about managing to walk my daughter to school, but feel awful and am due back in work next week which is really worrying me. keep me updated how you go. hopefully the side effects will settle for us both soon.
