Upper abdominal pain

Hello everyone,

I'm a 22-year-old male.

I've been experiencing an upper abdominal pain for a week now. It's a dull pain that is mainly located in the upper left side, but it gets also to the epigastric region (and less frequently to the right side).

I have other symptoms such as bloating and nausea. I have no fever.

The pain is partially relieved when I lie down. It is particularly intense when I try to do a sit-up.

I don't smoke and I don't drink. It's the first time I've ever had this kind of pain.

What could it be? Should I worry?

Unlikely to be due to gallstones as that is usually right upper. More likely with the nausea that you have gastritis/duodenitis. Have you tried an ant acid or an over the counter Proton Pump inhibitor (ask the chemist/pharmacist). If that does not solve the problem talk to you GP
