Upper abdominal pain in the evening, also when eating, and burping a lot

Hello, I'm posting this for my wife. She has a lot of upper abdominal pain/discomfort, especially in the evening. She often says it feels better when she puts pressure on her upper abdomen with her hand. Also, at times she has pain when eating, that makes it difficult to continue eating. She also burps a lot, and she says that it sometimes feels like food is trying to come up when she burps. Her doctor recommended Prilosec, which she has been taking every day. Also, she often drinks warm lemon/honey water in the evening. Both of these remedies seem to help reduce the symptoms to some extent, but not totally. Her doctor had ordered an upper abdominal x-ray several months ago, which showed a lot of constipation. So she has been taking Miralax off and on for that. We are wondering if you all have any idea what could be the root of her upper abdominal pain, and what steps we should pursue next?

Its possibly trapped wind trying to come up from the stomach or even lower in the gut, especially if she is prone to constipation.
Does she sit up straight when eating or slouched? Its best to sit at a table and not on a couch. Also small , but regular meals are better than one big meal . The old mantra about chewing everything 20 times is also helpful.

hi ite, this sounds like gastritis! it is a condition where you get pockets of acid that sit in your stomach right across, up and down and round and round! it is NOT comfortable, you could ask her to try gaviscon, if you take the advance stuff (well your wife), the acid bubbles form together and are then released safely. if you're out and about carry them with you and at home either take the tablets or liquid. it's sooooo good. ir really helps me. you can up the dose too and the chemist will know the amounts you can take. goid luck, it's worth a go! 🤞

Hello, I've been to 3 different doctors and have gotten 3 different diagnosis for my symptoms which includes; upper abdominal pain, white specs in my stool, mucus in my stool,, nausea, vomiting, pain after eating, and severe constipation, I've been told from the 1st doc that it was an inflamed hital hernia, the second said I was fine and wanted a gastric emptying study, and the 3rd said possible pinworms and gastroparesis. I took the pinworm meds as well as some leftover antibiotics and the nausea ,vomiting and pain have stopped but I still can't poop even with a full bottle of magnesium citrate. Most laxatives don't work except for ducolax and even that doesn't work at times. I am concerned about my regularity and this mucus and white specs in my poo. Need medical advice.
