upper left abdominal pain , doctors say its spleen related.

i am writing on behalf of a family member .he  is a 79 year old male  who was in perfect health and in excellent shape has been travelling a lot all around the world ( east asia(japan,china) , and south america(colombia, mexico, Costa Rica)).

in the last six months he lost 5Kg(11 pounds)  and has experienced lost of appetite , and he became fatigue.

he has been examined for an infection  in the Respiratory system  that was treated by medication , something was identified in the spleen doctors think its an infection but they are unsure.

he went under numerous tests and scans , and we have met with specialists  , and there isn't an answer.

do you know of anyone who traveled to these regions and experienced these kind of symptoms?
