Upper left chest pain - Help?

Posted , 3 users are following.

I am a male of 30 years of age.

A little over weight, not as active as I used to be and could be a little better when it comes to my diet.

I suffer from asthma, although I hardly need an asthma pump unless I over heat from activitiy or overheating while sleeping which happens on the odd occasion.

So for the past 4-5 years I have been getting random upper left chest pains that last a few mins. The pain is like a dull ache rather than a sharp pain and I feel if i push on it or try stretching it feels better but does not resolve it.

This issue occurs every 3-4 weeks and as it only last a few mins I have never really thought of it any more.

A year or so ago, it did get worse and I had an echo performed which displayed no issue.

Today I suffered from the same pain while sitting down relaxing watching TV. It started of just a little uncomfortable but got a little stronger so I got up and tried to stretch it.

I then at the same time of the discomfort felt a litttle light headed. I tried to talk it off and I then became a little short of breath (did not need my blue inhaled), I tried to take a few deep breaths and then I felt like throwing up.

I had to go to the toilet but I was able to control the sensations and did not let the sick past my throat...

After the 3rd throwing up sensation tha made me gag a few times, I calmed down a little but still felt a little light headed and a few times for a mili seccond felt like left foot was going to give way...

I took my inhaler as a precaution and I could feel when breathing out, my chest was a little wheezy.

Around 20mins later and the discomfort is still noticeable but not as strong and my light headediness remains very slightly.

The wheeziness has gone.

Any ideas what could be wrong with me?

Just to add for a long time I always wake up feeling tierd - some days worse than the others and I have to sleep with a specific cotten low tog duvet as any other high tog duvets on mostly every occasion makes me over heat and at most times makes wake up to having an asthma attack and go to the loo to pass urine.

I can also get leg pain from the over heating.

If I have less than 7hrs sleep, again most of the time I will have diahorea first thing in the morning and have aches and pains in my legs and body while feelings drained/depressed.

My advice would be to print off what you've written and take it to your GP. Sounds like there's more going on than just asthma.

have you ever had a blood gas analysis done. Nowadays they take a small sample of blood from your earlobe?

I think the fact that you've had chest discomfort, light headed ness and nausea, you should see your go and get referred to cardiology,I see you had an echo but you could be having something that needs more investigating
