Upper respiratory tract infection

I got a cold 4 weeks ago followed with a very chesty cough within a couple of days. This was very constant and i was convinced that i had a chest infection but i didn't.I felt so washed out with all the coughing.About 2.5 weeks ago i was very croaky but in the last 2 weeks i am struggling to talk and have been signed off 2 weeks to rest my voice. There is no improvement but i am worried that i will have to have a larynoscopy. The reason i say this is i had 6 weeks off work from Dec 2018 with a chest infection and laryngitis and i couldn't talk much for over a month. They found i had acid reflux and having a gastroscopy at a later date found i had a hiatus hernia.I am just worried if i am going to be like this every time i get a cold or cough.
