Hi All,
I have a dull ache in the right side upper abdomen. Just under my ribcage. I'm sure this is a slight flare up but apparently it is quite unusual to suffer pain on the right side?
ANY INFO would be very much appreciated.

I never have a diberticulitis attack that starts on the right , but that is just me. I hope u feel better

I was diagnosed with diverticulitis 5 yrs ago and luckily have only had 3 flare ups. I always have the pain on the right side. I mentioned this to my consultant and he said its not unusual to feel the pain on the right. So your pain could well be DD. A colonoscoy would definetely confirm this.

Thank you for your reply Angela. About 15 years ago i had the colonoscopy thingy done. It confimed Diverticulosis but i cant remember where exactly it was located. Since XMAS my diet has been poor and alcohol consumption high at the weekends... need to smarten up my act! xx

i had approximately 2 ft of left colon removed about 20 years agoFebruary, 2018 i had a severe attack a severe dull ache of something for days right side between right ribs what they call the flank it was so bad that it hurt to put pressure down my right leg i went to ER one night and ER Doc said i passed a kidney stone not so! i still had that terrible ache not so severe so had endoscopy & colonoscopy in August Doc said entire colon is diverticulum, excessive acid in stomach and Hpylori i took my antibiotics wrong after sedation from scopes fir a while week wo realizing the error until the 2nd week of antibiotics. After antibiotics ache was gone & i was once again hungry and not nausiated. That was 5 months ago. Now the terrible ache, bloating, nausia, vomiting, tiredness, irritability is back again. I went back to my specialist and now a CT scan & ultra sound although i told him about the antbiotics error
I'm never deoressed but i tjink I am now these dictors seem to move ssoo slow i told them im sick every day, im not hungry, I need the heating pad on me all the time now.
What to do i have called my colon doc so many times its sad

Gosh Jan, sounds like you are really going through it. I hope they can get you some help soon. Its such a worry and it takes over your life.

You should see your family doctor. I have left side diverticulitis but my gallbladder started acting up in Sept and now it is coming out next week. I think sometimes things are connected. First I had my appendix out 2015, then diver 2017 and now gallbladder. Ugh. But go to your doc as better safe then sorry.

I have pain in middle of stomach and right side. Feels like something is under my ribs that doesn't feel proper. Nausea, belching and in a bad attack severe pain wrapping right around my whole rib cage and terrible back pain.
When I lay on my left side I can feel something right under my rib cage on the right side almost like there isn't enough room for everything under there.
Pain is there on the right side pretty much most of the day and is always worse at night. If I eat too much it will hurt more.
Please see your gp whether you think it is diver or gallbladder you need to get checked. There is a simple test the doc can due to tell if it might be gallbladder. the doc thought I might have kidney stones too so get it checked for piece of mind.

HI!
I to suffer on the right side although my DD is located on the left. My last attack of DD which did result in a hospital visit also included gastritis which is upper abdominal pain. although the DD seems to have healed some what my right side pain has continued for a few weeks. I go to a Gi this week if i find out any useful information I will gladly share. The DD is so hard to deal with sometimes. Hope we are all soon healthy. Thanks

Hi, how are you now?
I get pain on my right side of stomach nearly every day....it comes and goes. I was diagnosed with DV several years ago and when gets it bad I have antibiotics plus liquid diet and seem to be able to control it. Did you find out if the right pain was actually connected to DV?
Hope you are all feeling better on here ....

Mild pain still comes go on left side had it checked again for diverticulitis bu not that again . They did see a gray mass on left overy NOT sure now what is that??? Gustro doc said go see Gyno doc shes been out Spring break now backed up with already scheduled appointments! Gurr..... Trying to figure it out! I have had diverticulitis twice over two years! Thanks out there! 👍🙏😁
