Upping from 75mg to 100mg..

Hi everyone,
I’ve been on sertraline since May this year mainly for health anxiety. I started at 50mg for 8 weeks then upped to 75mg up until now. I was doing well until this past week I just seem to be going backwards. Aniexty has creeped back up on me especially at night time.
I’m thinking of upping my dosage again as I don’t feel I am at my therapeutic dose just yet. I was due to have an appointment with my doctor today but unfortunately she wasn’t well & has had to re arrange but that’s not until 2 weeks time. Just wondered if anyone was in the same boat? Thank you x

Hi Bee,
In a similar situation, I have been taking 50mg for the last 8 weeks for anxiety. I didn't feel I was getting the full effect after overcoming pretty horrendous start-up side effects so went back to see the GP last week. She suggested increasing to 100mg but made the prescription out as 2x50mg in case they didn't agree. The first two days where like starting from scratch, utterly awful, I couldn't bare going through it all again so I starting cutting the second tablet in half. A week later still having some residual side effects but easier in 25mg increments. I will probably keep on the self imposed 75mg for another couple of weeks and see how I get on and then make a decision on upping to 100mg.
My advice for what its worth is why not go for the extra 25mg, you can always come back down, might be better having the prescription made out as 1x50mg, 2x25mg per day just in case you change your mind, I only say this as it could take a while to get in to see the GP if you change your mind.
Have you thought about CBT, I'm on week 5, would recommend it, there's nothing to lose in my eyes. Good luck whatever you decide.
