Upping meds not helping

Posted , 2 users are following.

I was taking .5 xanax in am with 10mg citalopram then .5xanax in pm with 25 mg topiramate at night. It has not been helping so my doctor just had me switch to .25 xanax in am with 20 mg of citalopram and keep the same meds at PM. I wake up feeling awful and shaky in the morning then take the meds. After about an hour I feel almost normal but it only lasts about 2 hrs then back to same symptoms. I don't know if I need to wait for the 20 mg to kick in or not cause I just upped it 2 days ago. On Tues I actually felt normal almost normal all day it was so nice! Drove myself to the grocery store did some errands! Thought it was finally going away. That night took a shower then back it all came ugh.

It takes time for Citalopram, SSRI's to work, if you can, stick it out for about a month. Maybe you need a midday xanax? until you get used to increase of Citalplopram - i see it's twice a day - but def check with you DR before changing anything. Good luck.

    I am on 25MG Citalopram.

    1mg Lorazapam x3. a day.

10mg Phenergan x3 a day (antihistamine based) It's been a struggle for me to get up to 30MG Citalopram but that is the aim, and then hope to reduce day time meds.

I hope it kicks in I am really tired of this! I have had symptoms pretty much daily since before Christmas and I don't feel I'm an anxious person they just pop up for no apparent reason. Today I actually woke up a little better. But around 1pm got a feeling like I was going to faint and it lasted about 20 min. Did some accupressure points and it seemed to help. Now just shaky and numb kinda pushing feeling left side face and head. Just so enjoyable.
