Upping the dosage to 100 mg

Hi there guys. I have been finding a lot of success with sertraline over the last 6 weeks. I upped the dosage about 2 weeks ago and started to help tremendously. But I have now restarted University, and although at first it seemed to be working well, suddenly I'm getting my old worrysome thoughts back and its really dibilitating. Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks!

Hi,
How long Have you been on the sertraline total? It can take a few weeks for the upped dosage to really settle in and level out.....you could speak With your doc about increasing if you are tolerating it well but you may want to give it another week and see if it improves perhaps. It may just still be leveling out.....
I wish there were clear cut answers to these meds 😀

Ahh just saw the 6 weeks. Sorry. It can take up to 8 weeks to see full benefit....... Maybe give it a bit more time and then discuss a possible increase with your doc? Glad you are seeing improvement. That's great!

I may have discovered the source to my new anxiety relapse holly. Turns out excessive drinking can reduce serotonin in the long term. Will give feedback later to confirm, after I've had a few days away from the good old devil's water

Oh yes. It will make ya pay the next day. Sertraline and alcohol don't mix. After you have been on it for awhile you may be okay. It makes everything so much worse the next day. Lesson learned 😀

Hi,
I just upped my dosage to 100mg too, a week ago. My bowels are a mess, but my depression seems to be lifting. I'm hoping my unpleasant side effect will calm down and that I continue to see improvement in my over all well being. It seems, from research and this forum, everyone has their own timetable and best dosage. A bit all over the map.
Walking and other exercise really helps with anxiety, along with medication.
I'm trying to do more and find positive things to fill my time. I know a pill won't fix my life, but it certainly helps! When you're depressed your whole thinking gets messed up, and just breathing feels like a chore.
Hope things level out for you. I had a lot of anxiety the first month 👍🏻
