Ups & Downs continued (100mg sertraline)

Posted , 12 users are following.

After another good week I've took another dip in form: low mood, low energy, foggy mind, hard to think and focus on studies).

This dip doesn't seem as bad as the last one which is a good sign. I'm 4 months in and was wondering if anyone else is experiencing the ups & downs at this point?

Have any of you stabalised over a long peroid of time?

Thanks,

Rossy

It can take 3 months to settle on dose increase take every day as it comes and don't beat yourself up when you have a bad day

I'm ok, I've been discharged from cbt, she thinks I have the right skills in place to carry on by myself. Had a few anxious mornings but it seems to be on the up again

Hi, i'm new to this site but having abit of a bad time with sertraline. Dr pit me on 50mg 4 months ago, which i felt fine with for awhile. Went back to dr as i started feeling low again so he put me on 100mg which i have now been taken for 3 weeks. Again felt ok untill 5 days ago. I'm now laid in bed as i feel dizzy and very sick when standing up. This happens first thing in a morning for around 2 hours, can not face food, hot drinks any smells it is that bad. For a couple of hours i feel ok but no way near my normal self. Then around 3pm it starts again, light headed, dizzy and the awful sick feeling this lasts untill around 8pm. My mouth is really dry but worried to drink anything because i feel that sick. Anyone else have these effects? I have my tablet in a morning but not taken it today yet as im scared of feeling like this tomorrow. Thinking of dropping back to 50mg. Please help

Drop back to 50, it takes time to balance out, I've been on 100mg for 7 months and still having ups and downs but they are getting less and less and further apart.

      Hey Philips how are you?

I'm not too bad. Had a bit of a down week last week and got a bit emotional at cbt last week too. Trying to be strong and keep going . I've decided to really watch my diet hoping that will help in the future if I ever come off sertraline? ? Can't see how I will ever be able to though lol.

      Hi Philip ,

I'm not bad getting better than last week but have the fear of returning bad as before. I went at my doc 2 days ago he said hang in there you will be okay . I wish to be back to my old self without any fear of what happened to come back .

Hi dodo, sounds like ur doing really well.

Listen I too have a massive fear of going back to how I was, lately been thinking about it a lot. Hopefully we know now that we can God willing get through it. And also that it doesn't happen again of course.

Take each day at a time, I guess it's a classic anxiety person trait , to worry about the worst possible future, what if , we just have to have faith.

Yeh not too bad, have a bad Tummy over the weekend but that's passed, seem to be struggling with heartburn at night.

Ah dear try not to eat to late at night, might help. Are you OK with the anxiety ?

Doing pretty good now. Only on 50mg but I'm having more good days than bad days now. I still get the heavy headed feeling normally if I'm in front of a computer or driving but I'm not impaired by any means. Facial numbness/skin tightness feeling is still there but not as bad. The other symptoms seemed to go away at least.  A million times better than I was before getting on this.

When I start having the heavy headed feeling I take some natural stuff for calming my nerves that seems to help me out a bit.  CBT today soon.  I can't stress this enough but go for a walk.  If you're at where it's colder air it feels so good. I think it plays a huge role on our nerves. My symptoms for that time of being outside and walking darn near disappear. It's a nice relief for the hour or 2 I'm out there walking. Helps keep your mind off of things too if you try. If you can't it helps you be rational at least about your thoughts. At least that's what I've noticed. smile

I totally agree with you about the walking 100%. Glad ur doing well.

Yep same, it seems it always in the back ground sometimes more than other times, middle of the day seems the worst for some reason??

Its nice you always keep in touch. X

No not yet dr said around the 6 month stage, but I didn't feel ready going to wait till around May/June and see how I feel as I'm moving to France in March.

Yeah my dr said 6 months too, I don't know if I'll be able to come off? As one day I forgot to take tablet and I was awful for a week.

Me too my doc said the same , I'm now on the forth month and still I think I need more time I don't know if by then I will be ok to lift off or will need more than 6 months .

I hope the best for all of us .

So do I hope we can all be better. Prayer is good only God can change anything, and I pray for us all. I shouldn't even be thinking about getting off them yet? If I have to stay on them for life and not be the way I was I'm fine with that!! Anything rather than the suffering of mental illness. sad
