Hi, I'm new to this forum and it helped me. I've been taking sertraline now for about 3 .5 weeks. My problem is I'm waking up with achy back and the the diarrhoea starts, I go a few times in the morning. My 2nd week in was great appetite was normal and loose stools but managed once a day. This week anxiety is back but not as bad before. I'd lost around 14lbs before I started sertraline but now I've lost more weight. Does the diarrhoea stop x

Hi, sorry to hear you are suffering but the good news is yes it stops once your body has got used to the meds. Try imodiuom that may help, hang in there early days for you yet but I am sure you will get back to where you want to be

i was on sertraline for 6 months i lost alig of weight and the side effects are horrific it gave me severe anxiety
i am tappering off now to start prozac
sertraline is the cheap version of zoloft
thats the proper one but gp wont give u this brand as its expensive so they give u sertraline which comes ftom india
its only 2.86 but zoloft is so much more exprensive hence they give you sertraline
took me 6 months to realise this

in the uk this medication is called sertraline, the branded sertraline is lustral, I believe it is called zoloft in other countries. you will mostly be given a generic brand it does not always follow that these generic brands are any better or worse then the branded sertraline, it is down to the each individual person on what they can take and what they cannot. like yourself many people have found they cannot tolerate the drug regardless of who makes, there are many who have found it to be a life saver whatever brand they take and there are many, like myself, who prefer to stick with 1 brand

Yes agree with this, I've been on 25mg for nearly 4 weeks and every day is so different. I think I'm still having side effects and trying to push through! Have my review this week and think I'll be going up to 50mg but will do it slowly as recommended really don't want to go back to the start with side effects again! Hope you get some relief soon.
