Urethral stricture undetected

i had a cystoscopy and was told by the doctor that i dont have a stricture, however im not really convinced. for one, the procedure was very short, less than 2 mins and cystoscopies should be at least 10 mins, and the urologist who did the cystoscopy doesnt specialize in strictures so he may not even know exactly how to recognize a stricture because strictures can be 1 cm or less in which case it could be easily missed by the scope.... i also heard a guy on here say he had a cystoscopy done once and the doc said he didnt have any stricture and then later went to another hospital and they found a stricture. this is worrying me a lot if anyone has some feedback i would appreciate it

hi , in general briefly a cystoscopy should involve inserting contrast in your urethra and then scoping upto your bladder neck or into bladder sometimes based on the findings. one good thing is you can check for yourself over the monitor and even take a video if allowed by doc. so if you have not gone through such kind of test i would highly recommend you to check with a good urologist who is specialized in urethral stricture. However it all depends on your issue and your priority to go for such tests. if the doc is not good with such tests then sometimes there a chance that it can results in strictures in the future if not properly performed. at this point i can only suggest you this based on my experience and i am not a doctor. one thing i know is a good diagnosis in the initial stages is highly recommended.

    Hi

This is not an obvious sign of stricture. Something else. Your Doctor is right. Get appointment of an expert in teaching Hospital where various docs comes for specialisation.

If you are in 50s and have diabetes then this can be a possible factor.
