Urgent referral for sigmoidoscopy

i spoke to the surgeons office who has reviewed my referral and the surgeon has given it a class 1 for urgent sigmoidoscopy . has anyone had this?

    Yes I have had a sigmoidoscopy, Its like a colonoscopy but just does the lower part of the large bowel, doesn't go as high up.

    You still have to have prep the night before. I drove myself there and back home, didn't have any sedation or anything.

    Its soon over.

    it s normal ,well just the enema that they give you ,is uncomfortable ,during the process doctors generally use anaesthetics ,so not a problem ,just a little discomfort ,well you ll be down for a day , it's more painful when u have fissure or hemorrhoids ,hope the report is normal for u and get treated as soon as possible ,keep us updated
