Yeah i get quite a few of them, im told by my GP and consultant that when stones move they release bacteria in your kindeys and urinary tract which cause the infection. I have one at current, when i originally posted my first post on here i had pain under my ribs on right side which id never experienced before with my condition i usually get the groin pain and lower back pain but never that high up.
Hope this helps

I found out over 4 years ago looking back i recognise all the signs now but at the time it was pretty scary and i can recall vividly the lead up to my diagnosis of stones but it was after the surgery i was told my stones were cystine and the only option is Pcnl surgery going forward with litte or no hope of passing them usually any stones over 5mm are either broken down on a rumble table or they perform pcnl.
Now i know to look out for flu like symptoms chills/fever, pain in my case from the right side that either comes and goes or a constant dull ache like something is pressing on my side often aggrivated more when mother nature calls or if alcohol has been consumed. I now drink 6-8 pints of water a day and i have to set an alarm to get up during the night to drink at least one pint of water (flushes the system). And i avoid alcohol completley.you end up self monitoring your condition constantly but with that being said my condition is very rare most stones are related to diet and lifestyle and usually dont return after they have been removed or passed. Mine are 100% cystine, genetic and i will make them for the rest of my life. Hence why im prone to infection.
Sorry its late the joys of forced hydration lol. have you had any xrays or CT scans or an ultra sound?
