Urinating during the morning is different from the rest of day

I have been having difficulty urinating after breakfast into the early morning period. My urine flow is blocked after breakfast, maybe up to noon. It just dribbles. I talked to urologist and he just said drink a lot of water. After the flow starts its good until the morning. Anyone have similar experiences.

I wold also suggest you start looking into self-catheterising as a simple, safe remedy just in case of developing acute retention, which you can do without at your age, well any age really. Having CIC in your toolbox is a great idea.

Thanks, my Dr doesn't feel I'm in the self catch phase yet. I've done it when I had prostate cancer 8 years ago. I take Terazosin twice a day.

Yes, I also have more difficulty draining my bladder in the morning. Usually have to go about half a dozen times over two hours after getting up to feel properly drained. After that i might last between two and six hours before feeling the urge to go. (Tamusolin has helped me but some users report bad side effects)
I'm not sure about drinking a lot of water as it's counter intuitive - but might give that a try to see what happens. Thanks for sharing & good luck.

My bladder drains fine at night. This phase starts after I get up and into the morning, than everything is fine. I'm on Terazosin.

Hi Yoshiro,
I've had something similar. Before I started taking tamsulosin, the first time I woke up each night (usually about after 2 hrs of going to bed), I would have great difficulty urinating... it would dribble, and would stop long before I was empty. I would then lie down, for as little as one minute, get up and then the urine would flow better and empty my bladder. Tamsulosin helped with this but had pretty awful side effects. I decided on PAE which I had just 3 weeks ago.
Are you on any meds? Having urinary retention on an ongoing basis, even if just for part of the day, is not something that you should ignore. There is the potential for damage to the bladder and/or kidneys, and of course for complete retention.

I used to go thru that phase before I did the TURP two months ago. I feel like it some times now but my Urologist told me it is the after effects of the surgery and it should go away as I heal. I take Terazosin twice a day. I still have some retention but Uro says let's look at it after I fully heal and he will scope me if necessary

Did you doctor scan you in the morning when you had the "dribbling"? If not, set up an early morning appointment and insist he scans you then. The results could be significantly different. Also, our bladders are generally the fullest in the morning which can make it more difficult for them to empty especially if inflammation and/or blockage. Again, testing, including a bladder scan in the morning will be helpful.
BTW how old are you?

I HAVE THE CURE for chronic nonbacterial prostatitis. I'll start with conclusion for the cure. The cure is not only to not masterbate for several weeks but you ALSO cannot get aroused for several weeks. The idea of sex can't even enter your mind. I'll help you understand why if you read below:
Many prostatitis sufferers believe that their prostatitis was sparked by overmasterbation while others believe it's the opposite. The truth is they are both only partially correct or partically wrong.
There are two parts of the equation A) prostatitis from too much sexual activity and B) prostatitis from too much sexual arousal without ejaculation. They both go hand in hand because sexual arousal will also irritate your prostate while you have prostatitis.
When you become aroused it increases semen buildup and pressure in your seminal vesicles and prostate. When you ejaculate it often makes people feel better temporarily and then the pain comes back. The reason being is because the arousal without ejaculation caused pressure buildup and was relieved when you ejaculated. The downside of this is that it caused further inflammation in your prostate and seminal vesicles. Short term gain for long term pain.
Humans are instinctually supposed to have sex when they are aroused. When you become aroused you produce more semen to become ready for sexual activity (baby making). Men are now in constant states of arousal from porn addiction. Like anything else the prostate needs time for recovery. Can you do super heavy squats every day? NO. So what makes you think you can masterbate every day or even several times a day without any consequences?
Why is prostatitis becoming more prevalent amongst young men as time goes on? What has changed? Porn addiction, arousal and frequent masterbation.
Try to train your brain for 3-4 weeks not to masterbate, get aroused or even think about sex. Then masterbate and see how you feel. This exercise has cured myself and pretty much everyone that's tried it.

Sorry to hear you have to go back in again. That's a thing I worry about too as my Uro wants to scope me latter to check if anything is causing blockage. It's not too much blockage I'm concerned about because once it starts to flow I urinate all day long with no hesitation. It's why it happens everyday in the morning. I try to look at what I eat for breakfast the pills I take and do process of elimination but no result yet.
