Urine Infection Symptoms After Citalopram Withdrawal

Posted , 5 users are following.

I finished Citalopram at the end of May, and only now am I really having the withdrawal symptoms.

I had a persistent urine infection around the time I stopped the medication. However, nothing cleared it, neither antibiotics nor antifungal. Nothing showed in samples sent to lab. I'm just wondering if it may be connected. It feel better but I still occasionally feel the urge to wee.

Not sure but I just got back from the doctor earlier and had one of those myself, feel like its been pretty off and on since I started the celexa back last year but now the doctor said its pretty bad. I am suppose to go off of the celexa starting tonight and switch to zoloft so, guess I will see.

It can definitely be connected. If you read up on a site called surviving antidepressants, one of the side effects can be urinary frequency/ urgency. Given time, it can resolve itself.

I started getting increased urination while reducing from 5mg to 2.5mg. It seems to affect me more in the morning, especially when at home. When I am out of the house it doesn't seem to be as much of a problem which suggests to me it's anxiety based. Stopped meds altogether 3 weeks ago now and still getting the same feeling but I think it has subsided a little bit now.
