Urine retention

long story short when i was in labour and had a epidural i had an in out cathetar placed they were shocked that my bladder was holding almost 1.5 litres of urine and asked if i had problems etc. after i had my daughter they were nit happy with me leaving without seeing the incontinence team which would of meant the whole weekend staying in they were happy to let me go home with a cathetar in and see me again on the monday when i went back in i had a scan on my bladder after urinating and i was still holding over 500 ml of urine after goinf again she was happy to discharge me with 300ml in my bladder. skip to a year later i go to the toilet anout 25 times a day and a night can be between 7-15 times. urogligst has put me on waiting list for bladder control and i have an appoibtment for self cathetrisation this friday but i still dont kbow whags wrong with me?! any one else had similar im 28 year old female with no health conditions. sorry about the grammer im used to auto correct haha

    Hi jody, I hope you got to see a specialist, I had the same problem with my bladder 16 years ago. I had a neurostimulator implant put in 15 years ago, I still retain and have bladder spasm but not nearly as much as I did.

    If you live in Scotland I'm sure you will be refereed to the QEH.

    To go to toilet that many times a day is a huge problem. The best solution for you is work on numbing your prostate through exercise and straining.
