You might be lucky. For me Urolift did not work. It has left me in pain and I could barely go and sit in an office after two weeks let alone ski as I had a serious infection afterwards. The chronic pain I am left with has put me off any sort of exercise other than walking. I have had a TURP subsequently which has helped symptons but the Urolift pain is still there after two years.

To expand on my rely. The Urologist says the Urolift clips can go beyond the prostatic capsule and that maybe in my case a nerve has become entangled with the clip end. The clip ends outside the prostatic capsule cannot be removed; only the end in the urethra and that would require a further operation if I wanted to try that to see if it helps the pain.

    Mook66,

When you say your prostate is growing upwards, that sounds like an enlarged median lobe growing up into the bladder. It used to be that Urolift was not recommended for enlarged median lobe. However in the last couple years a new technique was developed that uses a clip to pin the median lode to one side, I think it might be called "Medlift". If you are thinking about having a Urolift you should look up information about the new procedure. Also look up data about it's success rate. Make sure your doctor knows and has done the new procedure.
