Urolift broken apart

Posted , 5 users are following.

i just got back from my urologist. i had a cystoscopy today and a catscan. catscan shows no lesions, masses or tumors. very happy until my urologist tells me during my cystoscopy that I have foreign masses in my bladder. He then informs me that he doesnt see my Urolift from 2 years ago (put in by a diff dr).

Has anyone heard of a Urolift falling apart and pieces lodging inside the bladder?

Thank you in advance

Paul To me that does not make sense.

You will not see them they are a here to the prostate and covered by tissue.

I have had a Urolift and it has been 7 years. I do not know what is in your bladder. They should be still in your prostate. Mine are. If you are not having a problem I would not worry about it.

Hi Ken, unfortunately there is a problem. constant blood in my urine as well as massive cramping. my urologist should be able to see the urolift and where it used to be, but it is no longer there. We will find out soon as i am having surgery to remove the foreign matter. Urologist is very certain that the urolift has broken apart and scattered in my bladder.

      thank you for the reply

I still think it is very odd

It should be attached to the anchor. There are 3 pieces the anchor the steel end piece and the string. The only way I can see you have this is that he cut the string when he was pulling the unit out

Let me tell you what happen to me about 7 months after. I got a very bad prostate infection. I was on 2500 mg of Superflexion for a month. When I went in February to have my stricture check with the scope.

He put the scope in he said what is that. I felt like saying hey you got the camera. One of the clips came lose from the prostate. He tried to re attached it. I had to tell him to stop it hurt like hell. I had to have it replace 2 weeks later. He put in a new one and tighten the other 3. The only thing that they can think of is when I was on the medication it made my prostate smaller. The string is very strong and should not break

I never felt a thing. It has been 7 years and I have not had a problem

I hope you are not having another procedure and he is just going to remove what ever is in your bladder.

Take care and please let me know what they find. Have it put in writing remove material in bladder only. You don't want to mess anything think up.

I have always had things put in written they only do what I agree to. I do not give total control to a doctor. You don't want to wake up with your prostate cut at or removed

I'm happy that he is only getting the foreign matter out. Before you sign anything make sure you read it because once he has you under he can do what ever he wants

Yes the Urolift worked great. What happen to me was odd and my doctor was very good. It was only out 6 month's when I had it done

Please let me know what they find

i had the UROLIFT procedure less than a year ago. one day as I was stepping down on stairs I felt a POP in the prostate area and the pain brought me to my knees. The very next day as I was stepping down again, another POP and down to my knees again. Since then my prostate symptoms came back. I have an appointment to check and repair next week. We shall see 👀.
