Urolift not that great

Posted , 9 users are following.

I live in USA. Got a lift almost two years ago. No problems with the procedure. Results were good for about 6 months. Now I would say the improvement is 20% and declining. I had the surgery cleared through my carrier, Blue Cross / Blue Shield. What I was not expecting is that Urolift charged about $18K for the staples/straps. By the time the insurance discount kicked in I had to pay about $3K just for the straps. My Dr. said he had no idea that the material was that expensive. Beware! I will probably get a surgical procedure in the next year or two. Quite disappointed as this was marketed as a solution not a procedure to buy time.

I'm sorry that it did not work or hold for you. Maybe they did not put in enough clips. I had mine all most 4 years ago still wide open.

I would check into it .

I have WellCare which is a form of Medicare. I only had to pay $200 for my co-pay

    Take care Ken

Thanks for sharing Robert. Urolift is meant for people with mild BPH symptoms and with the lowest risk of sexual side effects. In terms of effectiveness and longevity, it cannot be compared with others like TURP or Holep or even GL. Hope you'll pick a better one next time. Hank

Because these so-called minimally invasive procedures (they aren't, ask your URO to go thru it, see how he/she handles it) are mainly designed to make UROS big time profit. Note how very few do enucleation procedures like Holep and GLEP? Well, this is because it takes a high degree of skill and time to learn = LOSING $$$ Why do they still do Mono Turp? = easy money for them.

All of this, because men are worried about retro ejac?
