Urolift procedure for BPH

My urologist recommended Urolift for treatment of BPH but a physician friend (who is not a urologist) has recommended against it. Any opinions, from either patients or health care professionals, would be appreciated.

Can you please share why the physician friend is against it? My urologist has been after me for 1 year now to get it done saying that there are no side effects even though it may not work. My prostate is 37cc and I have a weak detrusor contraction which ends up causing a PVR of 400cc or higher.

Waiting too for some input about the Urolift. I have read comments in the past at this site, It has been quite some time now. I am on flomax , I have a slow stream and frequency. I get up about 2-3's a night. My urologist recommended this to me about 2 years ago. Seeing if tech on it has changed any or other options. West coast US.
