Use of sertraline during pregnancy

Hi everyone! I am pretty new in this page and also new on sertraline. I have panic disorder and anxiety for 12 years. Many antidepressants used, the best was paroxetine for me however can not use it since I TTC. Last year I switched to escilatopram, it was fine for sometime, later on panics turned back. Then my doc switched me to sertraline when i got positive in preg test and i am on it for a month, however I misscarried when I was 6 wks due to some other reasons. Anyway I read some good comments and bad comments for it. My psychiatrist says it is the safest drug but obgyn says it is risky and dont use it if I can. But I know that I cant live w/o antidepressants. So I have to continue So I wonder if anyone used it and had a healthy baby?

Hi Abby how long did you go off it for b4 you went back on it? Does it take long to get to kick in again? As I’ve been off my paroxatine now for about 4months to try sertraline but it’s just made my feelings worse. I’m weaning myself back off sertraline and going back on paroxatine. Just wondered how long does it take to start to kick in again .any advice or reassurance please 🌹

Hi scarlet I was on paroxatine for 171/2 yrs for ptsd. Then the doctor adviced me to wean myself off it and try sertraline. I’m feeling worse than ever. Panicky, anxious can’t sleep, my mind is just doing overtime. I feel really detached from myself and my luv1s. So I don’t know wether it’s the sertraline that’s made me feel worse or because I was on paroxatine for so long. Would I beable to stop the sertraline and go straight back on to paroxatine. Any advice or reassurance please 🌹

I’m on week 9 if Zoloft 75mg. Some improvement, but not enough yet. I’m giving it a couple more weeks. I think my psychiatrist will increase the Zoloft if I’m not where I want to be by then!

Hi Debra, yes exactly. It is called cross tapering. But some ads should not be combined so ask to your doc. You can check this page: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4919171/
