Using a spa for pain relief

I broke my wrist in April falling down a flight of stairs. A plate and six screws were inserted. Now, six months later I still have pain that goes from the back of my hand up the top of the arm and into my shoulder. Pain can last 1/2 hour before subsiding. It results from everyday chores like dicing vegetables, pulling weeds, etc. as well as jamming it, bumping it and other mishaps. Operating Doctor tells me it will pass in a few more months (doubtful) but in the meantime to relieve pain by moving my arm around in a hot shower. Not only does this aggravate the pain, it's dangerous. The Fluid0 Therapy works ok but only goes up to my elbow.

I have cancer so I don't mess around with Tylenol or Ibuprofen. I am considering a cortisone injection.

A hot spa with strong jets works best. I asked my Doctor to write me a prescription for one and she flatly refused. I'm open to alternatives but she offered none besides the shower idea.

Has anyone been able to A: Have their doctor write a DME prescription for a spa and B: had it covered by their insurance?

I'm ever so sorry for you. My fall was the last of May with both wrists. I too have pain now and again not constant. But it's my hands that get to me and does radiate up the top of my arm. I use hot water to releave the pain. I've no other suggestions. Surely hope you find help.

I also use hot water and hot towels but there's nothing that works as well as those jets pushing the water into my muscles and nerves. Best to you.
