Hi no it’s not the same don’t use it!

You can get the correct one on eBay.

    Look for Borax-Sodium-Tetraborate- Decahydrate.

Quote from moralfibres uk site : Jan 27, 2017 - First off, it's critical to mention that in the UK and EU you can no longer buy borax. In 2010 the EU reclassified the 'Borate' group of chemicals that Borax belongs to as potentially hazardous to health, so it is no longer available as a cleaning and laundry product.

Borax eventually irritated me and I stopped using it.  My doctor didn't recommend it.  I have it has helped some people.  Everyone's different.  Buy Aqueous Emollient Cream to wash with.  It's from the UK.

Thanks for replying I use Hydromol which helps just wondered if this was better. Hate this problem had it for about 12 years just thought the itching was due to getting old. It’s weird I only get itching in the night so keep a small bottle of cold water by the bed and put that between my legs it’s stops itching which is good.

    Hi Holiday Girl

I've found Epaderm to be the best for washing, and it's soothing as well when you are feeling itchy. It's a standard over the counter remedy for Eczema. Get the tub of ointment rather than the pump action cream, the thing that makes creams white can irritate apparently. I use it as a soap substitute. You can buy a small one for about £6 in any chemists to try, or a big 500 ml/gram one for about £12.

I bought 20 mule team borax on e bay and it got here fine.

Many doctors here say if it's banned it's terrible, but I have a Spanish doctor who says it's fine, she knows I use it and will tell her other LS patients about it because she says it's the best progress she's seen (and she's a dermatology specialist). Someone else posted that they have a Lithuanian doctor, and Borax is prescribed in Lithuania as standard for skin ailments.

You can also get Borax on UK cosmetic sites for making bath bombs, so it can't be that bad!

Anything can irritate someone, you need to find what works for you. I can't use coconut oil which many people here swear by.

If you do try borax, less is more...

I am near Bristol and have tons of it if anyone wants to try a bit before they buy it. DM me. I'm not on here every day but will get back to you as soon as I can.

    Good luck!
