Unless you have an allergic reaction to it, it's not going to harm you and may ease the pain. Try a small area first.
For a few days in the second week, I used an Ibuprofen gel and it did ease it a bit. I prefer not to take pain killers but sometimes you just have to bite the bullet.
Small patch first then give it a try, it will not harm you.

I made a move two days ago that has really hurt...a bend towards lower legs to dry myself which I can do when I squat a bit which is always ok too but think I twisted towards my operated side as well. It's affected my pelvis but don't know if it's muscle or joint. Any ideas? I can walk but my daughter visited yesterday and asked why I was wonky. She's said my recovery is great and doesn't live nearby so only sees me every two or three weeks. Worried this won't go away and unsure what to do. Hip area feels ok and pre arthritis I've had lower back pain.

I have seen my surgeon and he basicallyvsaid so long as we can fullyvweight bear on the operated leg after around 6 weeks dont worry about pain as it will be soft tissue and muscles.
My pain got better although ober did it yesterday and am sore. But its muscular. As long as u can weigjt bear dont worry.
If you pre 6 weeks again dont worry if weigjt bearijg is hard as its very early stages. Hope this helps a bit x

Hi Sarah,I use joint ace cream from the health Food shop holland & Barrett. It will take time to adjust after a major op.It can take 6 months to a year.Have you tried hydrotherapy? This may well help.Keep warm in this cold snap of weather.regards Amanda
