Using emollients and sitting down.

I've had vulvar lichen planus for 4 years and have just had a really good gynaecology consultation today by phone. The gynaecologist said not to wear underwear in the house and only wear skirts. Both fine, but wondered what people do about sitting down without underwear when you're using an emollient. I've tried this once before and found it stained the chair - very embarrassing, but at least it wasn't somebody else's chair!

I'd be interested to hear other experiences and what's the best way of doing this. Would wearing pure cotton pants be just as good as going commando?
