Hi olisha, uti,s can be hard to treat and may take more than one dose of antibiotics, I am sure if you are under supervision of GP they will prescribe more.

    hope you get sorted out

hi olisha i know exactly where you are coming from as i have sufferd with urine infections for years as it so happens i went in hospital in 2014 to have a operation on my urine pipe to have it widen but it can not of been successfull as i have been suffering with a urine infection for the last 3 week for the first 2 week i was put on Trimethoprim which actually do nothing by the time i was on the 2nd dosage the infection was gettin worse so i went back to see my GP and he gave me another urine test and put me on Doxycycline caps and i think they are finally starting to do something because once you have been taking antibioticks for so long your body becomes amuned to them another bit of advice olisha it will be worth you going to have a chat with the 1 who runs the chemist where you get your precription as beleave it or not it is supprising the info you can get as john who runs the chemist i use is just like a GP and also if you need to get in to see your doctor and there is a fortnights waiting list your chemist as got the powers to phone your surgery and book you in that day hope you get sorted soon. dean

    Hello.

I know your pain, I've in the past few months had 7 UTIs at first antibiotics helped and cleared the infection but the last two times they haven't. Antibiotics don't always work and the bacteria that causes UTI can actually hide in the body until the antibiotics have cleared. Therefore you need to keep going back to your doctors and demand answers and further tests. At the minute I'm on a 5 day course of 3 a day Amoxicillin which have actually helped as I was first prescriped trimethoprim but that didn't work at all. Keep going back to your doctors if you can and tell them your symptoms aren't clearing up & the pains still there & they will do further tests & prescribe something for the pain, they may even send you to see a urologist to try and find the problem causing the UTIs.

Honestly, us women who have UTI, it's common and we all go through the pain not going, but don't just sit back and take it. Keep visiting your doctor & getting something to help. I tried just dealing with the pain after nothing worked & it was horrible, go back and see someone. We shouldn't have to suffer with the pain.

    Hope you feel better soon!
