Uti

I tested positive for a uti last week, they gave me antibiotics and I took it for one day. My last history is not good with antibiotics, so I kinda freaked out

I took uti strip test the next day and it showed negative. So I started taking cranberry pills as directed, 2 three times a day. Yesterday and today I have this feeling to constantly urinate. A little uncomfortable on my lower back, nothing crazy. I still took uti test and strip is coming back negative. I decided to not take cranberry pill today or last night because I started thinking my kidneys are working extra hard with all the sugar.

So my question is if uti strip test is coming negative, then is it the cranberry pills giving me the urge to urinate?

Other infections of the genital tract such as with C. albicans, herpes simplex, Chlamydia trachomatis and Gardnerella spp. may also produce similar symptoms of UTI

Consult with an infectious disease specialist who will get those tests ordered.

its obviously cause she didnt take the course of treatment one day its not enough for a uti...and when you take antibiotics the strips come negative until 10 to 15 days have passed...dont let the uti...treat it cause it can progress to kidneys (pyelonephritis) which is serious..also urine cultures will tell if you have a microbe or not..strips arent clear always especially after antibiotics or if your urine are too diluted

NOOO.... its not the cranberry..cranberry does nothing..it can prevent a uti but that isnt proven either..LOOK this is important! you are having a UTI IT MEANS TAKE THE ANTIBIOTICS IMMEDIATLY dont act stupid cause you re scared..the strip comes negative because when you ve taken antibiotics it needs 10 to 15 days to clear out so a strip can show actually if theres an infection or not..since you took one day course of pills the strip comes negative..the symptoms are from the uti..they wont stop until you take treatment..a normal treatment so that symtpoms go away its about 7 to 10 days of antibiotics..it needs time so that the medicine gets through the urinary track and more days to clear out the microbe..remember an antibiotic works this way it kills everything in your system so that your immune system can fight the infection..that cant happen in one day and sometimes after we finich a course we might have to take another course if it resests..so stop being frightened if you had a bad history of a specific antivbiotic talk to your doctor to perscribe you another..if it was just yeast infections and stuff its not something to freak out about all antibiotics cause that...take the antibiotics all course as you ve been said as if the infection wont be stopped it will progress into your kidneys (pyelonephritis) which is serious and you can be admitted to a hospital and after continued courses of antibiotics you ll have to check your kidneys every week...i sense you are pretty stressful person like me (last year i had a uti and after it im stuck with an irritation like small burning feeling in bladder water helps but after i pee it is there other times i forget it others im pretty obsessed about it.. it is driving me crazy..it stopped after 9 months but i got another uti this december and its here again..sometimes is like a pressure annoying thing anyways past 2 years and a half i had multiples uti and lots of antibiotics and ph levels are destroyed and that can be a reason some of my doctors say and its from stress also.. i did now do some tests cytology and ultrasounds again but stil nothing found so might be psychosomatic..i have psychosomatics symptoms and full stress at this period...so trust me..take the course remember if they told you to take 7 days and you start today take again for 7 days NOT for 6 because you took one day already.. the infection, especcially if its not ecoli is persestant and everyday more colonies are created...drink lots of water(its the only one that takes the infection away) and avoid irritants like juices coffee tomatoes smoking...and 10 days after take a urine culture to see if its gone away...AGAIN if you had a bad reaction to a specific antibiotic talk to your doctor dont decide on your own cause sometimes we dont know...good luck!! also cranberry(it doesnt have sugar its a ''fruit'' in pill) isnt doing bad to kidneys the infection is not there yet so they are not burden..but if you dont take the treatment the infection will progress there...

I have a very buning or pain frequently that feels like I have to urinate I do urinate a bit and very painful when doing so after I pee the pain goes away. I have had this for about a year now. It happened about 3 or 4 times a day and nite then it became more freqent it now happens about at least every hour day and night. been tested for infection and no signs of having. Could this possibly be cancer?

I very highly doubt its cancer, but you should get tested for an infection
