UTI

Went to the doctors just before christmas because I thought I had a uti doctor tested my urine and said there were white cells but no blood in my urine, sent it off to the lab and haven't heard back yet she didn't say it was a uti but she gave me a weeks worth of antibiotics which I took the full week of, but the sensitivity when I pee is still there and it's getting to me. I've had a few uti's before and one went to my kidneys. I also drink plenty of water and have started taking cranberry tablets from Holland and barratts (mother in laws recommendation) not sure what else to do, I had the symptoms for a few weeks before seeing my doctor usually drinking more water than I usually would helps but not this time

It's advisable to badger the doctors until you feel you are back to normal. I f you write or email 'they' know you have everything for reference....... UTI's can be complex so getting resolution is paramount I would have thought. Don't let anything be treated with anything other than accuracy.
I had waterworks problems on and off for 40 years and no doctor ever read my previous medical history which should have been looked at but was not....... That was unforgivable and although a bad infection was eradicated a couple of years ago there was never any resolution as to what the infection was /is......... Some bacteria can survive in a quiescent state for decades only to reemerge at some time later in life...... I do not want to scare monger but I firmly believe that until you have complete resolution to your problem press all concerned until you are happy with the outcome..... I would say in particular due to you having had problems that affected your kidney/s.

im currently dealing with what i believe is a uti for 3 months now. Ive had utis before and never even had to do antibiotics, always flushed it with lots of water/cranberry supplements. Not this time. Im still burning constantly (not just when i pee) and my urine is cloudy.
My dr has me on a 3 month script of Macrobid. Ive taken macrobid, augmentin and cipro for this infection but nothing has touched it. My urine tests are also negative sometimes, sometimes positive.
Ive read way too much about this lately and honestly the internet has scared the crap out if me. Horrir stories about chronic utis (or worse). But i know my body and i know i have an infection.
My advice is to keep bugging your dr till they figure it out. Mine has passed it off like oh well, sorry. Im angry and seeing another dr soon.
In the mean time have you tried d mannose? Its a natural supplement that helps many resolve stubborn utis. Also AZO pills help with the pain/frequency.
Im also about to start taking a biofilm buster since i believe my infection is embedded and this can help.

I always take to writing letters for 'reference' if I think something is not being resolved as it should be resolved. People may think this is over the top writing to doctors about their health but due to not getting resolution of problems that were serious in respect that no doctor ever read my medical history & even if they had done I am told by my Lady Tuberculosis specialist that only certain doctors know about the technicalities of TB.........
I was very surprised about that because although the facts about lymphoma and tb glands that can be mistaken for visa versa the fact that this clinical fact was known in the sixties & yet there again only certain doctors knew those facts.
I find that disturbing to say the least as well as the fact that immunity as a kid does not mean to say that immunity is life long because it may well not be .
The There is a USA 'paper' headed shall we let sleeping dogs lye ? This means shall we do nothing for those with Latent TB. This is even when the facts are known that latent TB might not be latent for decades & then reemerge. The correct terminology I feel is absolutely correct when it says that micro bacteria is insidious! Apparently the bacteria induces the antibodies to accept that is a harmless bacteria and then does damage when it becomes active again. Quiescent to active....... Another disturbing fact is that it appears that the cut off point for treatment of TB is 70 years of age!
