I ve had many many infections like this.  The usual antibiotics that work for UTI s are Nitrafurantoin and Trimethoprim.  But in saying that it depends on the sensitivity to antibiotics of the specific infection that you have.  This is diagnosed from the urine specimens you provide.  Try drinking cranberry juice as well as the water and you can buy cystitis relief powders from the pharmacy although I never found them to be very effective.  Hope you get some relief soon.  Horrid horrid condition, just so painful.

Hi Clarissabelle, thanks for you message, just wondered what type of pain you had as mine feels like a heavy pain when passing urine, but I now seems to have a constant throbbing pain and feeling really rotten.

maybe I try Trimethodin as already the others.

how long did it go on for you? I am in to my third week.

hope all is good with you now? Love Ann

Hi Ann. Used to start with very low down ache very much like period pains.  Then the agonising burning sensation when going to the loo.  Usually once the antibiotics are started it will ease in a couple of days but always continue to finish the course even if you think you are cured.  I now take one antibiotic daily as a prophylactic dose to prevent infections.   I m now four and  a half months post hysterectomy and all is completely back to normal.  Also had bladder and bowel repair done at the same time.  Best thing I ve ever done.

Yes very similar but I have shooting pains on the right hand side too, I don't have a cystitis type pain it's a heavy sort of pain and is better when I don't have an empty bladder. I think I have a temperature too off and on. My last sample showed that the severe bacterial infection had gone but that I still had white cells . did you have both bladder and kidney infection?

i too had bowel and bladder repair, I am looking forward to saying its best thing I have done too! Thanks for your support.

      love Ann

Yes I ve had both infections.   High white cell count means there is still infection.  Take paracetamol for the temperature and it should help with the pain as well.
