UTI, BV and Yeast Infection Cycle

I went through years of battling the vicious UTI, BV, Yeast Infection cycle. I was diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis, had my urethra surgically expanded, the whole nine. They couldn't tell what was wrong with me and every doctor prescribed the same thing. I just wanted to share that I finally went to a new doctor and she prescribed Boric Acid Vaginal Suppositories to me and they changed my life. I used them less and less until my body was back to regulating itself and I am pretty sure you can even get them OTC, so they are worth a try. I wouldn't wish that vicious cycle on anyone. It affects your self-esteem, your love life, it's embarrassing and most importantly, it's physically painful!

This is great advice and I'm so surprised that no one else has replied to you yet!
I had a dreadful year of repeated UTIs, antibiotics, thrush and all that which eventually just stopped after I left the office job I'd been in. I had a kidney x-ray which was all clear and the infections stopped anyway so I have no idea what caused them but my guess it that it was something to do with the office!
I have since learned that the antibiotics were the reason I had thrush, and that some of the stronger ones can be really harmful. Your investigative procedures don't sound nice at all! I think a lot of doctors don't really have a clue - and I had a lucky escape!
Thank you for your advice. I hope it helps others.

That is most interesting to hear. It's now 49 years ago when our first son was born and the midwife was quite elderly and the next year she retired==== that was a pity. Our baby suffered greatly from terrible nappy rash with horrendous sores. The professional doctors advice was Morhulen creme which did nowt for him and we were getting quite anxious. As luck would have it the old midwife called in to see how her 'protege' was getting on and we said Oh he's fine apart from the terrible nappy rash all types of things reccomended did not eradicate that sorness that must have pained the poor baby.
She said get, get a box of fine starch powder the common all garden stuff and instead of any baby powder etc use that on him instead.......... It was deemed an old wives tale but I assure everyone it most definitely is not because there was dramatic good effect and his lower half got better very quickly. We used it while ever he was in nappies and that problem never returned.
She said there is a simple equation in that advice and the fact is that some babies pee is very acid and the starch neutralizes that acid......... Perfect....
