Hi lovelies,
So I had a bit for a grand total of 6 weeks before it was finally taken seriously at my doctors and they have me the right anti biotics, after being symptom free for about 5 days the frequent urination appears to have come back, I'm terrified as I don't want to go through the same issue as last time could it be that my bladder now is just overactive please help it's driving me crazy.

A good urologist seems essential for you. My wife and myself saw blood in our urine about a year ago but a urologist said it must have been a coincidence. I knew I had an infection but no one could prove that since 'they'
did not carry out any cultures on me. A leading A and E special assessor nurse said to me I do not rate urologists because my dad had a catheter in for three months when he did not need one!
I told her the strange ideas that some urologists had re there can be no cross infection between man and woman! her reply to that was just as I thought = well how does one get a STI used to be called disease then? All of my symptoms were gone after not just one month on Trmethoprim but then because my symptoms came back with a vengeance I then was on Ciprofloxicin for a further 33 days which eradicated all of my symptoms. This is a year ago now and we have had no further issues re waterworks.
My faith is zero now due to two different urologists one of which stated =I cannot prove I had an infection!
The other told my wife that if she saw blood in her urine not to bother seeing the doctor......... Both of these people seem completely nuts to me due to their lack of basic intelligence.
Regarding the prescription for Ciporofloxacin. There has been a person who is suggesting or trying to get that antibiotic banned because it has had some bad side effects for some patients. Apparently this is not the only antibiotic that can have bad side effects but there are several. The tuberculosis antibiotics some of which are used for other infectious diseases can also have bad side effects but is this person suggesting that nothing should be given to anyone especially those who are old who are infected with a life threatening disease simply because some patients have suffered side effects with antibiotics that are deemed to have the possibility to harm?
Some patients suffer a miserable life with certain UTIs which doctors do not quite take in the severity of their suffering and in fact one of my GP's said a UTI is not life threatening but C diff is....... well with respect there are some UTIs that are most definitely life threatening and this is exacerbated if the doctors do not do what they should do and find what the infection is exactly.
