jazzy, if you haven't already done so, you need to take a urine specimen to your Dr who should send it off to see what bacteria, if any, is present. Depending on the bacteria present a specific antibiotic will apply.

Your urine being yellow with a strong smell might simply mean that you are not drinking enough water, and if you don't drink enough water you are more likely to suffer UTIs.

Meanwhile, stick to natural products, not perfumed ones, in the bath or shower, and wipe from front to back when you use the loo - sorry I can't put it more delicately than that!

    Hope that helps.

That's not a common med for a regular uti. What dose it it?

I know a lot of docs try to stick people on non hardcore meds but sometimes you just need a stronger med. there's a few you can ask for like bactrim or a recepherin dose. Sounds like you have a lower uti. Only a pee test is needed what you can do is request to look at the bacteria count it's just a receipt that comes off the machine. Those meds are not working you need new meds period

Trimethoprim is usually the first choice for treatment of uti's. Mrs. O-UK Surrey gave good advice.

Don't just hope that it will go away by itself. I made the mistake of trying to put up with low grade uti's using over the counter treatments because I felt I was being a pest to the doctor - now have kidney damage thought to be the result of frequent infections over a long period of time.

Definitely drink lots to flush out the system - it makes you feel better too.

Go back to the doc if it's been 4 days and it's still not working he wil retest you and prob give a new dose 200 is a low dose I was on in cipro 500 and that didn't work but I also had a kidney infection.

Read up on Nephroptosis or Floating Kidney - Dropping Kidney... Google "NEPHROPTOSIS Finally a Diagnosis" and read the Blog + All the Comments ... It'll describe how this condition can cause issues with almost Every System in the Human Body 😉 ...

Sorry, Commonly Misdiagnosed and the longer it is Symptomatic without Proper Treatment - the worse the Damage can be on your body and the Longer (More Painful) the Recovery once it's Corrected ... *I was Misdiagnosed for 7 Years!!

Don't freak out about someone else's condition see if the med cures the uti. see if the 3 days cures it that new med your on is bacrim kills. That med is normal dose is 5 days just so you know.

I meant bactrim kills most infections

A 3 day course does not seem long but they must be powerful x

Xray Standing Up and Laying down is best. But ultrasound can be used as well... As long as you change positions to show the movement of the kidney. 😉
