uti symptoms - anxiety

Further to my post of burning pains I've been to a Gp today as the pain in my back yesterday was awful. He says I have a water infection and has given me antibiotics.

I've got home and been stupid and have used Google now I've convinced myself I have bladder cancer. Has anyone else had water infection and had lower back pain but not from kidney infection as he says pain is too low for my kidneys.

I suffer from water infections, and have been in hospital due to mine. It is normal to get back pain, honestly you shouldn't worry. It is normal- I promise you x

You're more than welcome, to help try drinking cranberry juice! And get a nice hot water bottle and relax, the back pain is hundred percent normal! Sometimes it can be the only indication to a water infection so honestly there is nothing to worry about x

It's perfectly normal. Just be thankful it hasn't reached your kidneys as that pain is excruciating. It's also normal for symptoms and pain to worsen in the first 24 hours of taking antibiotics so don't worry too much if that happens. Just drink loads and take pain relief. I've always found hot baths and hot water bottles really helped too.

hope you feel better soon x

Thank you both. Its weird isn't it I know the antibiotics are helping and the pain goes until I start concentrating on it, oh to be free of anxiety. I feel everything little twinge in my body sad

Never had a uti before though and apart from a burning back pain don't have any typical symptoms I think that's why I'm thinking its something worse than it is x

I'm glad you're feeling better. Don't worry about it, if you're feeling better then they're definitely working and you'll be fine by the end of the course.

I've never had typical symptoms either which has always been a relief, the pain's bad enough without it burning and needing to go all the time smile x
