I’ve been experiencing this same, constant UTI’s & always blood present, no UTI past 2 tests but still blood, I’ve been tested for ovarian cancer twice due to severe pain and cysts dispersing on my ovaries, both times my blood come back fine! Thank goodness 🙏🏻 The wait and the worry is the worst! & I’m only 27! I hope your tests come back good and you don’t have to wait to long! I’ve just been referred to a Urologist now to investigate on where the blood is coming from, as I again have sent numerous wee samples to the lab for growth but no bacteria or infections there x

Marilyn, I hope you have the answers you need very soon and start healing. If it isn't ovarian cancer (hopefully not!), has anyone mentioned interstitial cystitis/painful bladder syndrome? It causes similar symptoms without the presence of infection, though you can have a UTI on top of it. A urogynecologist would be your best chance of a correct diagnosis and The Interstitial Cystitis Network has a good website that provides a lot of info and help. Best of luck to you!

I really don't think your doctor should have said it could be a sign of ovarian cancer and then leave it a week before doing blood tests and leaving you to worry.

If you live in England and the doctor suspects you have cancer anywhere in your body they can request a fast track appointment when you are usually seen within two weeks. I had a fast track appointment for a gynaecology problem a few years ago and I was seen in ten days, had a consultation, ultrasound and transvaginal scan and given the all clear all on the same day, but like you I had a bad feeling and was certain there was something terribly wrong.

Take care of yourself, try not to worry until you know if there is anything to worry about and please keep in touch.

Tell your surgery how upset and worried you are about the doctors comments. If they will not give you an earlier appointment then ask to speak to the practice manager or the doctor. Some doctors surgeries will complete the blood test forms and give them to you for you to take to the hospital and get your blood test done there and they then send results to your doctor.

Dont be fobbed off at the doctors, be calm but firm.

Take care and keep in touch.
